TĒRBATA HOUSE

The final three blocks of Tērbatas Street were laid out after 1860. The first buildings erected were army warehouses, followed by factories — those of the Danish-born canning industrialists Nortensen and Sørensen, the Greek tobacco industrialist Asimakis, and the Latvian entrepreneur Kuraus. Old wooden buildings and houses of this kind on Tērbatas Street were built by the first Vidzeme region settlers who made their home in Riga.
